Most expats are sad losers who spend vast amounts of effort trying to convince everyone that they have a better life - usually by trashing their country of origin- . I am not sure anyone gives a sh*tOriginally posted by scooterscot View PostThey served their country and in return...
Expats lose referendum vote legal bid - BBC News
Actually it's quite exciting from my point of view. Expats in the EU like myself will become stateless on Brexit, in effect. None will want to return to the UK. My Deutsch accountant thinks it quite likely we'll be granted some special status that includes tax benefits so those with in-demand skills remain.
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

It's outrageous that Govt can prevent British citizen from taking part in voting just because they live abroad (probably because of those Govts in the first place!).
Not even Putin tried that.Comment

There is no Scottish legal equivalent to British citizenship, so it would have been a tricky thing to define and implement based on current and past residency, place of birth and/or ancestry.Originally posted by PurpleGorilla View PostWell I didn't get a Scottish referendum vote living in England.Comment
