Maths ability in "generation Y" is beyond poor, they can hardly string a sentence together, concentration spans are non-existent, they spend all their time on facebook in the mistaken belief that that constitutes "social media skills".
Learn something that someone can pay you for FFS

They work hard, a lot harder than you did, and have better qualifications.

Why bother working when they can get nothing at the end? All their money goes on rent or student debts. No chance of a getting deposit on a house. Retire at 85 when inflation will probably have eroded all you saved.

The mountain to a nice house has always been high.
Buy a shared-ownership flat, save up, eat beans on toast.
We all had to do that in our formative years.
This is not the first recession in history you know, if you graduated around 1990, times were hard too.
I fogot to add another characteristic of this generation: a sense of entitlement.

No, it is a sense that no matter how hard you work you are ****ed. The mountain is too high. Unless a BOMAD hand of God comes down to help, you have no chance.

It's like life sentence with no possibility of parole.

Yeah must have been tough starting out in the trough of house prices before a 20 year climb.
