And none of this will change if you want to be in the EEA after quitting the EU - why is that so hard to understand? The massive strain would be alleviated somewhat if the government you no doubt voted for stopped this austerity BS and properly funded things like the NHS, schools and transport and changed rules around who could buy housing and why.

It's hardly surprising that lower-skilled workers are less in favour Europe.

Unchecked migration has pushed down their job prospects, pushed up their housing costs and undermined their sense of community.

On the other hand middle-class left leaning Guardian reading bores love to prattle on about how lovely their Polish gardener is. And how cheap! But of course the Polish and Romanian staff cannot afford to live anywhere near by.

We could of course take the money we pay the EU and spend it on something else.

Or raise (and collect) corporation tax or not renew trident or raise income tax or VAT or whatever is needed to pay for the things that people want. Preventing non-residents from buying property or strongly discouraging buy-to-let to ensure affordable properties aren't snapped up by speculators would also be a good thing.

Deporting all non-citizens and blocking immigration will not magically solve any of these things.

A trade agreement is totally different from agreeing to free movement of people. Cameron is a lying toad. What happened to the 'no ifs, no buts' cutting immigration down to tens of thousands? He and you are saying that in or out of the EU makes no odds, we just have to take this on the chin.

I'm not daft enough to think that that it's all the fault of immigrants, but adding such vast numbers of people into the UK isn't possible and there are obvious signs all about us. The NHS continues have vast sums poured into it. The building of houses and schools just can't keep up. Meanwhile the standard of living of current residents continues to slip. You are now suggesting the regulation of the housing market by changing the rules of who can buy a house. How would that work? Billionaire Russians can't buy houses? Oh, and you're wrong on the voting front.
