Er...
David Cameron has strongly supported Turkey's application to join the European Union on a visit to the country.
Speaking in Ankara, the Prime Minister said that he was "angry" at the lack of progress in the negotiations.
He said that the UK will do everything it can to help Turkey "pave the road from Ankara to Brussels".Britain’s ruling Conservative and opposition Labour parties both support Turkish membership of the EU.In a TV Interview on 7 October, Merkel said she was opposed to Turkey becoming a member of the EU. "Erdogan knows this," she said.
"Germany is ready this year to open chapter 17, and make preparations for (chapters) 23 and 24," she said, referring to the chapter of the community acquis on economic and monetary policy, and the two chapters on justice, security and fundamental rights.“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.” -
