They've been pushing the avoidance is just another word for evasion agenda for several years in the press, say it often enough and it's the truth as far as most are concerned.

The article even mentions fining avoiders which is of course a bit daft.

Sadly I think whoever wins the election will get HMRC to hammer the self employed. There are simply so many of us now that we are a significant target.

The Green party's most successful policy is not discussing it's policies.

What would be the effect of introducing that with the right of free movement within the EU I wonder?

Nothing new here, Labour detest the self employed, small companies, and any non-public sector, non unionised form of business.

The Tories have said much the same, though - they will crack down on false self-employment that is used as a tax dodge.
