I would do it again (although not the getting whacked over the back of the head part). I hope that if my daughter was ever getting assaulted in the street someone would try to help her, I don't feel I have a right to ask that of anyone if I am not prepared to do the same myself.
If my daughter was ever getting assaulted I would expect her to kick her opponent in the nuts.

Generally here the issue is re gf/bf situations. When I would expect her to walk off and dump the 2@ she was with.

To put it in context this was a gf/bf thing. He was 18 or so and she was 14. He was also a reasonably big guy and ran up behind her and started throwing punches. There was not a lot she could do.

In contrast my gf (now wife) was attacked by a rapist with a knife once and proceeded to floor him and chase him. He got away because she had heels and he had trainers on. Her ex boyfriend once had a tantrum and tried to get physical with her, she punched him to the ground and threatened to kill him if he ever tried it again.
