Lol....good luck with that - it's not for a bank!Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostIf anybody does actually want this gig, I'm about 95% sure I know what bank it's for. TAV, if you slip me a £50 backhander I won't tell everybody the contact details of the hiring manager...

In response to some of the (slightly negative) comments:
1, No, I didn't write the spec, and to be honest, I also don't understand it. This is for a client with whom I have a really long term relationship, who has asked me to help out - my relationship with them is generally on the Project and Programme level - You know, nice fluffy stuff....... When it gets technical, my brain starts to overheat, and I lose the will to live alot of the time.
2, Trolling. I'm not sure I understand that term - but I can guess. Just so you know, the database has something like 550,000 people on it (mostly junk as you can imagine) - to be honest, if I collected CV's aimlessly, I wouldn't really know what to do with them - trying to find them after I'd put them into the database, would be a nightmare!!
3, As long as mods are happy, I don't mind posting opportunities on here that fall outside of my knowledge area (i.e Anything technical) - Feedback and input would be appreciated, As sometimes, if I don't understand, the only thing I can do is throw it out there. The moment someone gets upset with the act of posting gigs on here, is the moment it stops - deal?

TAV - take no notice, I am all for a few gigs turning up on here. Job specs are always dodgy. Where is it - check, how much - check, can I tick the main boxes, do I want it - that's all I need to know on the way in, I am used to the actual job bearing only a passing resemblance to any spec or even description at interview.Comment

No problem with seeing some positions here (as long as we don't get flooded with junk, that’s what jobserve is for) but you might want to take note of the lizards comments. The wording of a spec does affect the quality of the applicants you will get.
Crappy looking spec will attract chancers and repel quality people (unless desperate)
Well worded, detailed* and knowledgeable spec will scare off chancers and attract the quality people you would want
*Detailed does not mean 5 years’ experience of X, 3 years of Y, 2 years of Z and so on for every possibly related sub skillComment

So....lots of responses saying how I could do my job better, but not a single person who can do the gig?
SURELY someone is benched out there, who can cope with going out to Sweden for a while and earning some dosh??"Being a permy is like being married, when there's no more sex on the cards....and she's got fat."

Unfortunately, I'm on a gig., but I'd probably do it for the Women, not the dosh. A mate of mine did a six month stint out there, and the girlfriend he came back with - Anna - was an utter stunner. I'd never been so jealous in my life.Originally posted by The Agents View View PostSo....lots of responses saying how I could do my job better, but not a single person who can do the gig?

Still, at £525 a day all in, you'd have to be a bit desperate. Travel and board will eat into that severely, and from what I remember from my mate, he said everything out there was expensive. ...Not sure if that included Anna?

Out of interest, how do those of you with long term partners/wives/husbands cope with working abroad or long distances away from home? Interested from a personal point of view really......."Being a permy is like being married, when there's no more sex on the cards....and she's got fat."
