Two Years Worth of References

Hi

Been contracting for 5 years under my own limited company. Last Friday my contract was cut short due to on going finicial issues in the market (Crappy one day notice period ). Therefore iv been looking hard for another contract to no avail. Seems like i might have to go permy. Most of my contract over the last few years have been short 2-4 month stings. When applying for a permy job iv been asked to provide ref's for the last two years without any gaps.

Can i provide a two year refs from my own limited company ? (Written up by my company secretary) or is this seen as a No No ?

As i am aware that one of the companies i did a two month contract for has dissolved since.

Any feedback/advice would be a great help.

Tell them you'll provide references once an offer has been made.

I'm impressed. I generally find that it takes at least a 3-monther to bust a company properly.

Its just the way the contracts have worked out. Just the one company that seems to have dissolved. Am sure it had every little to do with me.

From what i gather most company’s dont really find the idea of a long term contractor going permy appealing.

In theory, iv been employed by my limited company, so really i have been permy regardless ? yes / no.

I might be jumping the gun with the permy job aspect, but just want to know what options i have. If i chose to go down the perm track.

Dont really want to stay on the bench for long, the mrs was made redundant in Aug. So need some sort of income coming in.
