Built an AI job board for IT contractors - feedback welcome

    Fellow contractors,
I'm a full stack contractor who got fed up with traditional job sites, so I built something.

ContractorGig - every job has AI-extracted IR35 status with a confidence score and evidence quote from the actual JD. Also does AI matching, CV tailoring, and a free Rate Intel tool showing live market rates by tech stack.

UK IT contracts only for now. Live at contractorgig.com.

    Feedback welcome.

It's probably great but I'm not signing up just to see what it looks like

Also no privacy policy, which I would want to read before signing up. What are you doing with my data? Are you ICO registered, as you'll be processing PII?

EDIT: apologies, missed the small print at the bottom.

However, the privacy policy doesn't confirm that you're ICO registered for processing personal data. It also doesn't say which AI your tool is based on and what their policy is regarding the data that's fed to it. I presume that you've not built an entire LLM from scratch and instead have built an agent on top of one of the established ones. You also don't state where my data will be stored - does it stay in the UK or EU, or will go the the US, Russia, North Korea for processing and storage?

Curiosity got the best of me, and I signed up anyway just to see it.

Mostly I was curious if the job ads overlapped with what I see from other sources, such as jobserve, and it did at least look like the feed was not overlapping. So I don't know where these feeds come from...

Anyway, I build my own job search agent in an afternoon using Claude Code and ICM methodology. Its completely tailored to me and my CV and I can tune the results any way I like. The CVs it is producing for each role that I match are really good and I would happily send them in - they read just like I spent hours fine tuning them.

Overall I think its a reasonable attempt and there might be demand for it. Didn't like that the layout is mobile only, I would never do job search on my phone, always on a desktop PC.

Others comments about GDPR and PII are valid, I just threw caution to the wind because I wanted to take a look at what job ads it might present. But of course, I have no way of knowing if they are even real?? If there was some overlap with my other feeds I could at least have verified a few as genuine.

Its a nice little starter for 10.
I might sign up and have a gander once you have fixed navigation on a laptop and addressed privacy concerns.
Can I ask what data it uses for live market rates for the retired?

might get more if you're a Powerpoint Monkey, or otherwise have 'manager' in your title.

Thanks for the feedback everyone - really useful.

                  A few updates:

ContractorGig is ICO registered. The privacy policy page has been updated to confirm ICO registration, which AI models process data, and where data is stored.

Desktop layout is now live. Nav rail on tablet, full nav drawer on desktop.

The source of every role is shown on each job card, and applying takes you directly to the original
posting so you can verify it's genuine.

Rate Intel pulls from live contract postings on the platform, updated daily. So the rates reflect what's actually being advertised right now, not survey data
                  or estimates.

Still early days - feedback like this is
exactly what's needed. Will keep improving it.
