If I was IR35 they can bloody well stump up the laptop (and I'd push for a work phone as well...)

I feel for those who had to tell their spouse they will no longer be paid £12.5k a year to do F-all and then deal the double blow that Val-d'Isere is off as well...

I'd cut down on the daytime drinking if I were you.

I think he means he cannot afford to go skiing since IR35 made him pay tax on his meagre earnings.

Not at all but I have heard the complaint from fellow one man band single client contractors who (in my opinion) took the piss with their tax arrangements.

Why are people taking umbrage to having to use their own equipment?

I got sent a laptop for my new gig and I hate it, but am forced to use it because ClientCo (Big 4) stipulate that I have to and there seems to be no way around it unlike other massive corporates I've contracted at.

The context is that it's an inside gig. If they want a disguised perm then they can stump up the hardware.
