    Corporate TPS and Recruiters

    Morning all,

First time post on CUK so hoping you can break me in gently. Apologies if I'm positing in the wrong Forum too; mods- feel free to shift this if you feel it is better placed elsewhere.

After a quick 'Google Site Search' I can't see that this topic has appeared before and was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of whether joining the 'Corporate TPS' scheme will exclude recruiters from calling me?

When starting the business, I transferred my 'personal' mobile phone account into a Business Account under my business name for obvious reasons, keeping the same number.

This number had been registered under TPS for some time and my experience was great; the number of calls from the usual muppets dropped to zero, and when I did get the occasional call I must admit I did enjoy roasting them for not screening appropriately.

However, since transferring to a business account I've been receiving a reasonable number of 'you've been involved in an accident that wasn't your fault' type calls, and am assuming(?) that 'Personal TPS' no longer applies as I am now a Business, and therefore my number no longer appears on the 'TPS list' to be screened.

I've noticed there is such a thing as Corporate TPS (TPS), and was thinking of joining but was wondering if anyone else has any experiences of this; specifically, has it/could it prevent 'cold calls' from recruiters which, whilst occasionally annoying, can be pretty useful at times?

    Looking forward to your comments!

Can your phone block calls from certain numbers? (it's a much-used feature on my iphone)
You can sign up to block calls from known spammers for a small fee, there are plenty of apps out there. TPS is a bit extreme, as you do want genuine recruitment calls to get through, and most of the spammers (particularly the offshore ones) ignore TPS anyway.
His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...

Get a PAYG cheapo phone and give that number to your recruiting contacts and your CV. Then you can separate work from home stuff fa more easily than trying to set up a rule-based selective exclusion process.

Also worth noting that spoofed UK numbers from "distant" call centres don't care about TPS...
      Blog? What blog...?

Good tip! And thanks for confirming my reservations about Corporate TPS.

Although I appreciate yours and malvolio's comments about TPS not being particularly effective, I found it brilliant until I swapped my number to Business although granted all of the spammy calls I receive seem to originate a UK call centre.
