Is there a penalty for closing and starting a new company ?

    Hi All,

I just heard from a mate that if one closes an existing company and starts a new one, there is some kind of penalty which means you cannot be a director for a few years and therefore cannot be a director for the new company.

Is there some kind of truth in this please ?

    Thanks in advance.

Preferably one who is an accountant, and then ask that mate.

          You believe anything.

I have a tax avoidance scheme for you to use. QC and HMRC approved.

sounds like your mate has misunderstood the rules around closing and claiming entrepreneurs relief and phoenixing

You were only suppose to do it once.

And you don't need to be married to have sex and be legally lumbered with children.
