        Agreed. It's a permanent state of interviewing for the foreseeable future...

        Even when job vacancies increase and unemployment decreases, it doesn't mean they are good jobs. Governments often focus on unemployment figures, but never the quality of jobs.

                      If you saw the follow up - it was a misunderstanding of sira's contract (as there hadn't been time to read it completely) but it wouldn't surprise me if Barclays (say) tried to use one sided probation periods - heck for years they had contracts with no notice periods on the contractor side of things.
