Switched my LinkedIn status to OTW this week and had 3 approaches
One outside (consulting), two inside with crummy Banks.

    Replied to the outside one

      Sorry to here that.

In a bad market, the whole interview process seems to be more drawn out, demanding and all the more disheartening when you don't get the gig.

I tended to find the more drawn out the recruitment process, the less likely it would come to anything.

Finished last [almost 3 year] role end June, had some time off and start a new role [six months initial] on Monday.

Unsure if the market has improved / still poor but for PM's it seems fairly buoyant although admittedly I am going back somewhere I have worked before via the same agent that I've been with on the last role.

          Good luck to all looking.

Well I’ve not started as yet.
Been waiting for the IT equipment to arrive since Friday.
The courier seems to be useless and I’ve been sat at home for last 2 days.
Am losing the will…that’s 2 days lost money as no equipment has arrived.
I am half tempted to ask if they’ll pay me as this is my own time sitting in and nothing being delivered.
I’m available and ready to work but they’ve chosen a crappy delivery company.

Probably best not to rock the boat. I am sure to will get those.lost days back through the contract at some point.

Out of the blue a recruiter sent me a linkedin about a ("up to") £600 a day 6th month gig today. I was slightly tempted until realised that even if it lasts the 6 months there's not much else out there.

This is the first sniff of a worthwhile gig I have had in more than a year (although not actively looking as I went perm some time ago).

What does your contract have as a start date and is it inside IR35?

Sounds to me like a disaster. However this could be a GOV.UK and SC clearance likely role. Is it? Certain things like BPSS checks are taking time to clear. I have just been through it, recently. Now I am into my fourth week of a new gig. The parcels arrived well before I started. In fact, I had to ask for a delay to the start by a week. Keep chasing the employment agency, client and/or consultancy is my advice.

I'd also keep your Open-To-Work flag on LinkedIn on, just in case, they are playing the fool. Sod's law and all that. I know it is cr@p, but keep your head up.

Yup. Just had an interview for one that took about 5 weeks to give me the interview in the first place. I was tempted to even not bother with it as a lost cause, but... might as well do a practice interview I suppose.

Have not been called to say I go the job!
