Anyone know of a Contractor sued by an Agency or Client, ever?
so as a lowly one man band office worker what insurance do you need?
public indemnity insurance - I am not a builder
professional liability insurance - YES
employers liability insurance - 1 employee
Which policies should I consider?
The three most common insurances held by freelancers and contractors are Professional Indemnity Insurance, Public Liability and Employers Liability. Broadly speaking, these cover you against negligence in various circumstances.

Public indemnity insurance is for the cases when you work for a client who shares office facilities like kitchens and toilets with other companies in the same building. So if you accidentally tripped someone up and they broke their leg then the insurance will pay out.
BTW you also need business insurance on your car. As an add on it costs nothing to £30.
