Unsolicited contact regarding investing in, buying or merging company

I have received a couple of unsolicited letters from someone wanting to talk to me about investing in, buying, or merging with MyCo. I ignored the first letter on the grounds it must be a cold call spam letter but I have had another because I didn't respond to the first.

The letter comes from a group that specialises in restructuring and turning around struggling companies, and I simply can't work out what the interest would be in MyCo.

Has anyone else had this or come across this happening?

People can get details from companies house and similar sites.

Put the letters straight in the bin.

      WHS.

I had one yesterday offering me a £4K next day loan.

What an insult, I worth at least £6K...

I'm not getting in touch with them.

I just can't work out how it us supposed to work for them.

Same way any spam marketing scam works, carpet bomb any targets they can find from lists, if they get 1 or two bites in a few 100k then they'd consider it a success.

I get these all the time -
Wanting to buy my ltd company
Wanting to sell me company mobile phones
Wanting to sell me accountancy services
Wanting to sell me Factoring services
Wanting to sell me lease cars (is that sell of lease)

They go straight into the big green filing cabinet that sits outside my back door.
I get loads of spam email offering the same services. I only know I get them because I occasionally look in my spam email folder before I delete it - its actually set to self deleted if there is anything over 7 days old in it, but I like to look now and again just in case something has been marked as spam and isn't.

They might be looking to buy your company name and history and then sell it on to another party who would beenfit from being able to say something "...with x years experience in the Y trade..." and use the incorporation (encorporation?) dates of your ltd.

I've not had any of these. What's wrong with me?

                  Give it time.

                  I get "exclusive" offers everyday.

Your accountant or secretary gets them and puts them straight in the bin/recycling.
