Agency requesting list of my Ltd Co's shareholders & directors

Interview went well, agency confirmed offer by email.

Prior to raising the contract, agency want the usual plethora of 'evidence' to prove my legal legitimacy.

One item demanded, which I haven't been asked for by agencies previously, is a list of my Ltd Co's shareholders & directors, in the form of an official document generated by the companies house website - is this an unusual demand?

      Not usual.
If you get one and deliver it you could spoof it.
Surely they would be better getting it direct, or using a free service like :

Yes - agency just needs company full name and number then should do own checks.

Give them the URL to companies house - they want the information, they can get it themselves.

...agency specifically asked for a companies house (pdf) report generated by an email request - the email request can only be initiated by a user logged in to the company 'account' on the companies house website, therefore I am the only individual able to request the report - inferring this must be private info. The report details the number of shares allocated to directors - this info doesn't appear to be in the public realm.

I'm wary of an agency unnecessarily collecting sensitive data that can be sold on / distributed for their benefit, while 'potentially' putting myself and my Ltd Co at some risk of fraudulent activity.

            Am I being paranoid?

Well, DueDil has the information about directors and shareholder percentages, so I would presume that it's publicly available.

Have a look and see if it's publicly available - if it is, then they should be able to get it; if it isn't then ask why they need it.

Shareholdings in companies are public record, so yes you are being a little paranoid

What's so sensitive about the share distribution and how do you imagine it being used fraudulently?

Are you prepared to walk from an offer on the sole basis of the above, if not, what's the point?
