Banks? They are closing faster than pubs. I'm 10 mins walk away from 4 empty banks, and they will remain empty probably forever, because they were built as banks, and won't work as shops. His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain... -

Classic Brexiteer 'logic'.Originally posted by Mordac View PostYes, it did, but that would apply to every food importer. So why are some coping better than others? As we have discussed widely, badly run companies are quick to blame Brexit, because it deflects quite nicely away from the real reasons.
Quite apart from the fact that their brand name sounds like an Italian drag act, their food offering wasn't very good, and the service was awful. No organisation is going to survive that in the long term, with or without Brexit.

If there is a recession and 100,000 businesses go under that otherwise wouldn't, is it nothing to do with the recession because not every business goes under.
Some businesses are more vulnerable to economic shocks, but that doesn't mean that the economic shocks have no effect just because some businesses survive them.Comment

Also porn movie sets. Like, a man that goes to the bank to make a deposit. Or a woman that wants to speak to the manager because her loan application was denied....Originally posted by northernladuk View PostThey often make great cocktail bars or restaurants though!
Porn should be just as important as fruit picking in the uk2.0 economy.Comment

Unfortunately the local council don't agree. New restaurants are effectively banned (I'm not making this up) because they won't allow any change of use. All we'd get would be the big chains though, because the rents are prohibitive.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostThey often make great cocktail bars or restaurants though! His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...Comment

If they are in the same sector, and subject to the same 'shocks', those which go under must have 'underlying health conditions'.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostClassic Brexiteer 'logic'.
