Last week, I spend three afternoons outside Parliament and I had many conversations with leavers and some actually changed their opinion. Some were dead loses and they gave reasons such as "Did you know that the EU was started by the Nazis?". "When we leave the EU will also leave NATO, they are the same aren't they?". "All the English laws have to be approved by the EU".

1. Highest court will be UK court of law, not EU court of law. A country that doesn't decide it's own laws is basically a vassal state.

I rarely comment on Brexit discussions these days, but stuff like this does irritate me somewhat.

Until both sides acknowledge that the other's arguments have some validity, there will be no solution to this mess.

There are arguments for both leaving and staying in the EU - there isn't a 'right' answer.

However, in practice, the government couldn't have done a worse job of implementing "leave".

You can have one, and we promise to ignore the result. spend three years doing nothing else except trying to implement the result without f***ing up the country, while a small cabal of influencers subvert the mandate for a utopia promised in the campaign into a “mandate” for the hardest possible result (because that one makes them a shedload of money and power, not because it’s the best result for the country)

Let's put aside the totally simplistic interpretation of 'democracy'. Let's ask the question "Is it more democratic to follow the will of the people three years ago rather than the will of the people today?"
