Where do you get your information from ?
    1.7m in 2017. And in 2003?

    Yes - 1.7m

2009 was a very unusual year for obvious reasons. Wilful distortions like that are typical of the Brexit mindset.

Phew! Good job remainders are such an honest bunch and never lie or distort

Nice to see an occasional post from you where you're not standing just behind the big boys in the playground shouting "yeah, what he said"

In fact car manufacturing has been expanded but is now contracting as Brexit blows a big hole in the UK economy.

I really don't understand what that's got to do with what I just said.

The figures were deliberate distortions that painted a completely different picture to reality. Is that not something that is shameful and typical of the ridiculous distortions all you Brexiteers have foisted on on all the simpletons who duly waddled down the polling station and dropped us right into this awful mess?

Meaningless remarks about playgrounds just underlines how you lot refuse to take responsibility for what has happened.

What % of leave voters do you hold to be simpletons?

Should simpletons have to take responsibility btw?

Ps. I think he was congratulating you, on the relatively non-partisan way, you called out BB (a remainer?) for posting something misleading.

Lets not overdo this misleading, first it is factually correct that manufacturing increased steadily over the last few years and secondly the fundamental point was refuted that UK manufacturing was moving to Eastern Europe. It wasn't.

My point was and is fundamentally correct

Manufacturing employment over the past 5 years growing

The UK’s manufacturing sector is experiencing its longest period of sustained employment growth for four decades, as some factory jobs that went overseas during deindustrialisation return to the country.

In the five years to March 2018, the British economy has added 145,000 manufacturing jobs, according to official data.

This is the longest period of sustained employment growth in the UK’s manufacturing industry since the data series began in 1978. Previously, the longest period was between 1994 and 1998, when manufacturing added about 200,000 jobs.
So when someone states that manufacturing jobs were disappearing anyway because of "cheap Eastern Europeans", this was fundamentally incorrect.
