I honestly don't think that anyone in the government has actually read Article 50:
Bear in mind that Article 50 Para 3 clearly states "The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification." What does it mean?
It means that citizens from any of the EU-27 counties or any of the other 60 plus countries around the world where the UK currently enjoys travel and trade agreements will be illegal aliens in the UK at 11:01pm on Friday 29th March 2019.
In the UK this means that come the next working day these citizens will have no right to work in the UK.
It will be illegal for them to pay income tax, PAYE or National Insurance and it'll be illegal for HMRC to take payments from them.
The Home Office have made it illegal for landlords to rent property to illegal aliens with risk of thousands of pounds in fines for renting to illegal migrants... but then why would they when an EU citizen can't work here... how will they pay the rent?
Banks now have an obligation to freeze bank accounts of illegal immigrants and can't unfreeze until permission given by the Home Office.
As foreign nationals even the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) will be invalid for access to the NHS.
it be illegal for the Department of Work and Pensions to pay any benefits like working tax credits or child benefit and councils will be unable to pay housing benefit.
Companies employing the newly illegal will face fines of up to £10,000 per employee....

You're the one who's suggesting every non-British EU citizen in the UK should be locked up and/or be deported, because Article 50 says they will immediately be committing a criminal offence. Surely we get to decide who's an illegal, that's the point of not being in the EU anymore? You’re right that the UK can now decide who to let in and who not to. So what’s the current position then, for EU nationals in the UK? (And vice versa, UK nationals in the EU).
On the face of it, everyone is now a citizen of a “third country”. Visas are required. Companies that have employees without a valid visa are liable. Landlords are liable.
Is there a visa process in place? If not, what’s going to happen at the end of March 2019, in the event of no deal?Comment
