Good to see “Global” Britain is increasing spending on the FO and embassies.

Oh wait, it’s not. Every word out of BoJo’s mouth is a lie.

There is more to thinking of the world than expanding our diplomatic effort. But more embassies, more diplomats and more people on the ground would at least be a start. In the past five years, however, the Foreign Office budget has been cut by 40%, at the very time the UK is leaving the EU. In Germany, by contrast, the equivalent budget has almost doubled. It now spends more than three times the British total.

Germany sells 5 x as much to China than the UK. As an EU member.

No British prime minister has set foot in Africa since 2013, Macron has visited 6 times in 8 months.

The UK foreign office has had its budget cut by 40%, the German equivalent now has a budget three times the size and the budget has doubled.

There is now no British embassy in 16 African countries.

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
