Grimsby wants to have its fishcake and eat it!

Maybe a bit of research before voting might have helped:

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

But it's not fair! Those nasty EU bullies are picking on people again.

So what that's about is giving Grimsby "Free Port" status. A free port is an area excluded from custom and trade laws of the country that its in.

There are a lot of "Free Ports" ( sometimes called Special Economic Zones ) already in the world, including Liverpool & Southampton.

So it's not stupid, or turkeys voting for Xmas, but a practical step to give Grimsby an economic advantage.

Of course, the main advantage they will have is that they will actually have some fish to catch. Unlike the Danes.

That will work for IMPORTS, but not for EXPORTS.

I am sure other fishing towns who voted for Brexit will be very happy for EU imports to flow in easily via Grimsby.

So they voted for Brexit but don't want to suffer the consequences of not being in the Customs Union and the Single Market?

A bit like Wales & the South West voted for Brexit, but still want their EU subsidies.

Yes but it was about elephants, not fish.
