2K doesn't sound like enough to cover much CT or VAT liabilities? You hadn't withdrawn money that you shouldn't have as well per chance?

Your company is registered at a flat share? You forget to close it down?

You see how this looks don't you... and HMRC actually care!

Wasn't reg'd for VAT and would be enough for CT as I only worked approx 5-6 months as I was out of work due to recurrent illness I had, hence no income and moving into my girlfriends, so all seems about right what was in there, when I was well again and looking ex colleague called me about the Doha role and it went very quickly from there.

I think that you misunderstand that you have admitted to a number of offences, each of which carries a fine, penalties and the payment of taxes.

Most of the people who post on here, genuinely try and assist, but remember that "advice" given is free and not always impartial. Some are not interested in helping, particularly when only part of the truth is disclosed - some are just waiting in the wings to pounce

I never gave you advice, just a few recommendations and alternatives. If you wish to take advice, from a professional, I would recommend that you seek the paid services of a Chartered Accountant who will give you the benefit of his experience.
I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).

Seems this forum is pretty clique looking at the posts already and yours to boot, very friendly for newcomers, one would wonder why members would stay, over the last 24 hours I have found a wealth of information on here but responses like that hardly invite people to stay

Clare mentioned that HMRC can get your old company restored to the register but I understand from an acquaintance of mine who works in a liquidators office that it's pretty rare for them to do that.

You don't tell us what the state of play was wrt outstanding VAT and Corporation Tax from the old Co ? In any case, whilst disolved nobody will come asking for that.

It is conceivable that HMRC will meet you with a personal tax bill which you will have to pay but my guess is that apart from the £2k which is gone forever you will not hear anything further about it. Personally I'd start a clean sheet with a new Co. and try not to worry too much.

                Best of luck,

                Boo

I'd be interested to hear what the accountant says...

Hi Boo, met today and he basicallly said that it unlikely that they would reinstate the company and it is unlikely it would be reinstated for this and it is costly too. Seems to think HMRC will not pursue it but is as the money frozen was there or thereabouts what was owed in CT so pretty much quid pro quo (his words) because the company is now dissolved. Said there is a possibility I will have to pay the fine still from late accounting, will have to wait and see what they say now when he contacts them. Will look to be using him with my new company that I formed today so the responsibility is elsewhere and to prevent another cock up by myself
