Took an agency to court

To cut a long story short. A very large agency deducted £250 from my invoice. So after giving up discussing it and sending letters, I went on Money Claim Online. Cost me £25 to file a claim. The agency ignored the forms and so I got judgement by default. I just checked my bank and there is a nice deposit of £275. I would have gone further, it was the principle of the thing. Next step would have been filing for a Third Part Debt which would have frozen their bank account. That might have upset all their contractors who wouldn't have got paid.

I read that as he'd have taken it further if they ignored the default and hadn't paid up.

Fair play to OP, I'm a 'principle' sort of person myself so I applaud this type of thing even for such a relatively small amount.
