another mention of the 40% discount but it now appears related to reliefs rather than a discount??

I have long suspected that we are a 'special' case with the politicians and HMRC. We're not rich, we don't have powerful friends, we're ordinary working people who just happened upon a loophole. We just cannot be allowed to get away with this. They'll bankrupt us without giving it a thought.

Can anyone tell me what would have happened if the Rangers case was still waiting to be heard at the FTT.

Classic example of how this new legislation could go spectacularly wrong for HMRC

I'm sure Gauke wasn't lying, it was probably 79.9999999999999% with a rounding error.
