    Payment Of Corporation Tax

Just looking at a reminder from HMRC and they set deadline for corporation tax to be paid on a certain date with the company tax return to be filed three month thereafter

Is it normal for a company to have to pay corp tax first and then file the company tax return after?

i have an accountant but hes off

I have to pay corp tax 9 month after end of tax tyear and file accounts 12 months after end of tax year.

Thats completely normal? I d be looking at doing my second year accounts by the time my first year accounts have been filed

Typically you will have 9 months after your year end to file your accounts with companies house, 9 months and 1 day after your year end to pay CT and 12 months after your year end to file your CT return with HMRC. Your first year if trading may be very slightly different but thereafter, the deadlines should be as above.

Super Craig - Very helpful stuff here

Just surprised they need accounts and a separate corp return - Too much paperwork

If you use the PDF Corporation Tax return it'll submit the accounts to companies house as well as the CT return. However you still end up putting in the same numbers twice, and so is barely worth the effort (and in fact I couldn't get it to work).

But yes, it is insane, especially the part about submitting the form 3 months after paying the money.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.
