Who are the MPS & TPS?"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." Cicero -

A fellow contractor showed me an email he got from Brookson today, stating that you were very busy and would take 5 days to reply to emails, and only to call on 3 days in the week!Originally posted by AndrewSloan View PostBrookson successfully transformed in 2007 during the legislation change, we invested heavily on technology and processes to ensure Ltd companies can use our services.
Take a look at www.brookson.co.uk/revolution for further information on our services, they are quite unique and we are looking to revolutionise the accountancy sector for Ltd companies and Sole Traders.

Is this the "unique" service you referred to?"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. That was the case when the snow was bad a few weeks ago. But even then i found service standards have dropped, and sometimes impossible getting past the "personal manager" firewall system. Mistakes all over my accounts tooOriginally posted by Waldorf View PostA fellow contractor showed me an email he got from Brookson today, stating that you were very busy and would take 5 days to reply to emails, and only to call on 3 days in the week!

At Brookson we have always tried to be honest and upfront with our customers and occasionally throughout the year we experience peaks in activity ,particularly in January. We feel it is best to manage customer expectations and inform them if there is to be a delay in service.Comment

I've just spotted this. That is plain wrong, I won't let it pass without comment. I know of maybe dozens of contractors who went unpaid for at least 6 weeks (and maybe longer) during the MSC legislation fiasco. Of all the firms I know of, Brookson was least able to handle those changes it seems. I know of several guys who went for weeks with no money and with no way of contacting Brookson because you were not answering emails, your phones were engaged or were not being picked up. I also know several contractors who actually resorted to setting up another Ltd Company and invoicing their client/agency through it because otherwise they'd have starved if they'd relied on Brookson. Sorry, but I won't let that episode be forgotten about.Originally posted by AndrewSloan View PostHi Waldorf,

Well to be fair to Brooksons, in the time that I had been a member with them. Being approx 5 years, they had always been helpful and on the ball with all my enquiries and affairs. I would have gladly stayed with them if it had not been for my agency being so arsey.
I was with them when they went through the legislation change process, and yes they were extremely busy but if you persisted you did eventually get through, and they were always helpful with informing you as to the current state of progress and what the next step was. I also did not get paid for that time, but was offered to go paye if I chose to do so during the time.
I am now moving to Nixon Williams, they are good too, but I would have gladly stayed with Brookson, although their fee's are a little high.Comment
