Anyone using crunch.co.uk for their ltd co invoicing and accounts?

Looks good, bit pricey at 59 per month, but I'm thinking about it. Nice cos its integrated with invoicing.

In the past, we had thought about SJD for ltd co accounts, but all the mention of IR35 on the provided spreadsheets put me off (surely we would have just gone with an umbrella if we were caught by ir35?

Currently our ltd go work with our own crafted spreadsheets. Nicely set up, quick to reconcile with bank statements each month and generate a few summary sheets of info needed for VAT return etc.

Do you understand what IR35 is?

If you do then you would be aware that accountants service different types of IT contractors with limited companies - which are those caught by IR35 and those not caught by it.

I suggest you read the guides on this site, search for IR35 on this forum and read the posts, and ready the guide provided by the PCG about IR35.

No, you do need it in conjunction with an accountant to do your statutory/tax filing, so the total cost including it is typically ~£50-80/month.

But it is a top quality product used by many contractors through their own independent choice, irrespective of what their accountant does. It's not a homemade product from a firm of accountants (no offence intended to crunch, haven't used their service) that's forced on their clients to make the accountant's life easier.

Ourselves, BFCA (who are regular posters on here) and a few others predominantly work with it for their contractor clients.

If cost is your main focus, then you could always try cheapaccounting (we have no connection with it and are not passing judgment on its quality, but it is probably the cheapest way of getting your accounts done, without DIY)

Me, I use microsoft office accounting (2008).

It does everything I need, Invoices, Bank Account Recs, produce P&L/ Trial balance, Balance sheet, does VAT (not FRS but easy journal to fix amounts).
