    I have yet to see anyone except Crown Employees allowed it as totally tax fee. In theory anyone should be able to claim it, if its essential your partner accompanies you and its not polite to go without them! But then it only seems to be Crown Employees that have to attend events that they can't go to alone and need to have their partner with them.

    Some of the post meeting entertainment. Of course as CoSec she had to come to ensure she could sign the contracts we didn't win.... Don' think I'd try it now though!

      Why does't the 24 months rule apply to MPs.
      If an MP from Birmingham works in London where the house of parlement is
      why can he claim expenses in London. This is a 5 year contract.

      If I lived in Birmingham and signed a 30 month IT contract I would not
      be able to claim expenses from day 1 in London. Thats the Taxmans ruling.
