Providing NI No to client for Procurement System Logon- IR35?

    Hi,

I'm a freelance Ltd co PM o/s IR35 and have been asked to provide my Nat Insurance No to a cient as a unique ID so I can be set up with a Logon to clients procurement system so i can fufill some aspects of my PM role. (Raising PO requests, approving supplier invoices etc).

Ignoring the fact that I've never had to provide such info as a perm or freelancer before and it feels very extreme, Anyone see any IR35 issues arising?

    Cheers

Sounds like they only need it as a unique ID. Make one up using one of the online places....

    http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/nat...nce-number.php

Note I do not condone the use of any such web page.
Cooking doesn't get tougher than this.

Does that not come under personal information and hence the DPA? I wouldn't say it's an IR35 issue in itself but I wouldn't be giving them my NI number.
      Older and ...well, just older!!

        Comensura maybe?

No way do they need it.

If the system is designed so as someones NI is a Primary Key, they need new DBA's!

I would have thought that approving other suppliers invoices was a bigger pointer to IR35.
