    IR35 Revenue vs Contractors

Hi, I have a quick question.

Does anybody know how many cases the revenue have actually won, verses the number of cases investigated.

One of my mates said they've only ever won 1 case? Which sounds a bit low to me.

Go to www.pcg.org.uk and read the front page (in fact, read all of it...). There have been four losses, one recent one where the contractor was stitched up by his client, and three from the early days, two of which would probaly be winnable if they were re-tried now. Meanwhile, something over 1400 have won or had their cases dropped.

Of course the one thing we don't know is how many ill-informed sheep are out there happily and pointlessly paying up for the sake of a quiet life. Could well be a few tens of thousands.

Do you have a link to info on the recent loss?

I am one of the 1400 but I am also one of these "sheep" :-(

This is mainly due to the contract and working arrangements at the current client but having been through an investigation I have no desire to do it again, even though it was dropped (eventually)!

Not publicly (I think there's some gen on the PCG fora). You can google for Island Computing Limited and see what comes up. Interesting case in a couple of ways, for instance his agency contract did not align to the client one. PCG were thinking of challenging that but the guy had had enough of legals and courts by then, which is fair enough.
