Tax Liability Cover (TLC35) from Qdos - is it worth the money?

Did anyone ever make an insurance claim under Tax Liability Cover (TLC35) from Qdos? Did Qdos work hard to protect your company? Is this insurance worth the money?

QDOS have stated how many investigations they have fought in the past. I don't think they will go in to too much more detail though. Why not ring them and ask.

For them - or any of the other similar products - to pay out, first they have to lose a case. That hasn't happened yet...

But they've defended over 1500 cases. They don't need to lose one to make it worth the cover.

Yes, as of last time I spoke, whilst QDOS will have spent quite a bit of money (ie "earned" their insurance premium) defending IR35 cases, to date they've never lost one where the contractor had their TLC35 cover. The guy from QDOS I spoke to said fairly seriously that they kinda want to lose a TLC35 case, so they pay out, but in the longer term likely get more sign ups.

However, if you assume past experience continues as is, it's perhaps worth getting the cheaper insurance where they defend your corner only but don't pay out if they lose. Maybe you don't need the cure if the prevention is good enough? Caveat - this is not serious advice(!) just a comment.
