Love you tooOriginally posted by malvolio View PostYou may not have any restrictions (although I would be surprised if there aren't any somewhere). The client however may well have one in their contract for supply with the agency though, and you won't get to see that one. Either way unless the client tells the agency and agrees a commercial settlement, you will have problems.
BTW, let's get one thing clear. You are a contractor, nobody owes you anything and in real terms you have few if any rights to anything, including work. Make too much fuss, or p*** off the wrong people and you end up with no contract at all...Comment

Scum is literally:Originally posted by Patek View PostThanks mate. Really appreciate your input
I've discussed with the client and they are indeed unhappy about the agents conduct in this matter. I've left it with them for now, they are a good bunch.
I could walk into another job by the end of the month on £450 but may have a bit of travel (whole reason I moved across was accept £450 but travel!) however, I've discussed with my old client and they are absolutely desperate for *my roll* and would take me back on the same rate I was on before. I am in an industry where my perticular roll there are more rolls to fill than there are qualified candidates to fill them. We are like rocking horse $hit at the moment as they say so there is no worries from my side at all about finding work elsewhere, get emails on a daily basis. However love this client though and could see myself going perm one day
I knew most agents are slimey but didn't know they could be literal scum as well

I would have given you that advice later but I was busy exercising and then checking if anyone I know has been injured."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

You're right to be annoyed and upset by this. There are a few points you've made where your lack of business experience are glaringly obvious and you would do well to heed some of the advice given and apply it to future gigs.
Key take aways:- Do not end a contract early unless the opportunity is so very good you would be certifiably insane not to take it. The increased rate you anticipated that comes with travel is not a good enough deal
- Do not hand in your notice until you have received the contract, had it checked by a solicitor, and you are happy with the terms
- Turning up on site without signing the contract = signing the contract
- On some client sites, turning up without signing the contract is a breach of their Public Liability Insurance and they may refuse you access
