    Another price rise at InTouch

I think I'm finally going to look elsewhere, though with some sadness as the service has been great. InTouch increasingly seems to be going the full-service route and I don't really want to pay for a load of features I don't need.

Some of the stuff they give me for free is great - an office address, my SATR, reference letters for mortgages, etc. I've seen more and more people tout FreeAgent based accountants, do any include such things? I'd much prefer a smaller agency with a personal touch than a mega-firm too.

    Recommendations?

This is the first price rise since 2015, and will be continued throughout 2018. As you are all aware in the last 2 year's there have been a lot of changes that have affected contractors and simply relying on technology will not be enough i.e. FreeAgent. You will always need that individual support, and with the additional offer of One2One reviews, is a clear indicator of how we are taking personal advice to an even higher level than we have before.

So you weren't offering proper individual personalised advice before?

Of course we were. With all the changes within the contractor industry this is even more important and why we are openly offering this to all our client base.

Let's be quite candid here. Market forces are driving prices DOWN in this business and at the same time a dominant player is emerging that many enlightened practises are leveraging to cut internal costs and improve service at the same or lower prices. Contractors have had to cope with static or falling rates for many years along with higher tax burdens all at the same time. All of which is reducing income. Look around, plenty of better and cheaper options. Vote with your feet, don't take lame excuses as justification. It is pure Darwinism at the end of day, evolve or die.

Just to repeat - I've been happy with InTouch since I moved to the several years ago. As indeed I was happy with ClearSky prior to that until they went the full-service route. I don't think IT need to defend themselves, it's just not the service I think I'm after.

                  Have you asked your clients?

Yes we have thank you - there was a survey that our clients were invited to complete around the Easter holidays. The question was asked within this.
