            Yup, when it's too "complicated" to legislate precisely, they opt for a fudge in the hope that it will deter. It would be simpler to prevent all office holders from benefiting (and perhaps having a TAAR on shareholders, because many legitimate employees will be shareholders).

                      Just wander on back to the very post you quoted and look at it really, really carefully. "Try that instead" probably isn't there for decoration, it might actually be referring to something.
