InTouch are good and are used by a few of our more senior posters so a good place to start. If you do go with them tell them 'TheFaQQer' sent you. He get's tied up and beaten with rolled up year end report every time he recommends a new client. He loves it.
Other ones off the top of my head to try are SJD, Nixon Williams (technically the same company as SJD) and Gorilla (who I'm with just for clarity but the Freeagent software is terrific).
We have some really good guys posting advice as well who I'll mention in my update but I can't remember them all.
When you speak to your potential new accountant make sure you get on well as well, you are doing a bit of an interview of them as well don't forget. If it doesn't feel right maybe try another.
There is an accountant recommendation thread that is stickied at the top of this thread which I'll update shortly and there are plenty of other threads requesting accountant recommendations so don't expect a deluge of responses to this one.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

As NLUK says, there are a number of accountants recommended on here regularly so speak to a few and make sure you get a good feel for them. Ultimately you are going to rely on them to give you decent advice so you need an accountant you can trust.
Intouch get good feedback from what I've heard and use their own portal. Freeagent is also great for contractors and that is what we, and the likes of Gorilla, Masilns and quite a few others use and comes highly recommended.

I'm with InTouch and have never had any problems or issues. I would say however that if you are looking have a look at Freeagent (free trial) . If I were looking for an Accountant now I'd choose one based on this alone. It is much quicker to do your monthly stuff (invoice, expenses) via Freeagent than InTouch or (I would imagine but NL can confirm ) a spreadsheetComment

I agree, my first priority now having done the 30 day trial would be to choose a freeagent accountant.Public Service Posting by the BBC - Bloggs Bulls**t Corp.
