Tracing a company bank account from 2009

Trying to help out the director. The company closed in 2009.

He has no records. His accountant is dead. It was a one man band. Any idea what would have happened to the working notes?

He is fairly sure he knows the bank name and branch so he might just be able to write to them.

    Any other ideas?

If a company closes, doesn't any funds in the bank account revert to the treasury?
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

Correct they are Bona Vacantia and become property of the crown, the only way to get them back is to restore the company.

No money left in the account. He wants to get bank statements.
