    looking for an accountant

I'll be contracting from Jan or end of this year (will be opening a limited company) and am looking for a good accountant. I've noticed quite a lot of people recommend nixonwilliams however they do not review contracts for IR35 compliance. I've also been looking at crunch who do. Everyone has different opinions about crunch. Looking at qdoscontractor, it would appear to cost £100 for a contract review... unless that's for the entire year?

edit: please do NOT PM me about your companies, post the info in this thread instead

InTouch just announced they are including some sort of insurance/review as part of their standard package (I think).

Regardless of that, they would be my recommendation.

      Thanks d000hg

IR35 risk assessments are included within the monthly package, at no additional cost, for both contract and working condition reviews.

Plus, we will also be including in the monthly fee from 01/10/2015, cover with Abbey Tax. This will then cover any enquiries from HMRC both personally and for your business.

Don't skimp on contract checks. It's important and it's peanuts. QDOS do 3 free contract checks a year if you take out PI/PL insurance with them which I am pretty sure you are going to need at some point.

I am sure the accountants offer a robust service but I'd rather go to a contract specialist for this type of advice.

Even though I'm an InTouch customer, I've never used their review service - I wouldn't get my lawyer to do my accounts, so I'm not going to do it the other way round.

It'll be interesting if I ever get an investigation - I'll have three different providers all trying to foist it onto the others...

Why use an accountant to do legal checks for?

I don't use a lawyer to do my accounts so I don't use an accountant to do contract reviews.

BTW I'm not doubting your abilities as an accountant.

100% agree. I would outsource it to appropriate lawyer/expert and absorb the fee.
