    Hi,

My name is Matt and just joined the forum, I'm currently in full time employment and am looking to become a contractor in the next 12 months. A question I've got has anyone ever done contracting at the weekend only, if so how have you gone about finding work.

    Thanks in advance

Never heard of it before. Plenty of questions about part time contracts which are very difficult to get, even with a very good network of ex clients.

Freelancers might be able to get work they can do themselves whenever they want but that doesn't really fit in with what we generally donas contractors.

There is the other aspect you'll be working 7 days a week for months on end if you did manage to find something like that.

To be honest, if you're looking for weekend work to supplement your income, consider getting a job in a bar or shop.
Most clients looking for contractors are looking for them Monday-Friday. Sometimes if you get a job on a helpdesk you might do some weekend work, equally on projects there may be a requirement to work weekends as you get closer to go live, but generally there aren't contracts which are weekend only.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore
