    Umbrella - full contract of employment vs payroll services only

    As per the title, I came across a discussion about umbrellas doing full contract of employment vs payroll services only. In the 2nd example, it is up to the contractor to chase the late payments etc.

    To be honest, I don't understand why/how the 2nd option is even possible? If I'm formally the employee, why do I need to worry about that kind of things at all? Can anyone give me an example of brollies operating in the 2nd model?
