Tax + Employer NI over 3 months

    Hi

I'm new to contracting, and am actually only going to be on the market for 3 months before I move abroad. As such, I've gone with an Umbrella Company.

One thing that I wanted to ask was with regards to claiming a refund to make up for the fact that I will only be working for 1/4 of the year (minus the tax already paid at my previous job). I know I can claim a refund on tax, but what about the employer NI?

It's roughly £1k a month, assuming then that this rate is based on me having this rate for the entire year, wouldn't it be less overall? If so, how do I go about claiming a refund?

It's the umbrella company paying the Employer's NIC's so it's not something that you can reclaim, sorry

Ni isn't based on any form of cumulation. So no. And the employers NI is nothing to do with you personally anyway.

At least you should get a years credit towards pension which may or may not be relevant to you.

Thanks for the responses, I expected it would be something like that!
