  3. Mini portable speakers for phone/iPad - any good?

I was looking at things like this in the £5-15 range, as a stocking-filler for the wife - she currently sticks her iPhone in an empty glass (in the kitchen, she likes to sing while making me my dinner ;) ) Obviously this is not going to be like a HiFi or even a docking station, but is a speaker...

  5. Ultrabooks

I'm looking for some advice from others who've bought a new laptop or ultrabook recently. I'm getting sick of the heavy brick laptops that I've had over the years, so I'm starting to think an ultrabook is the way forward. I was originally keen on a convertible but the mechanisms used to flip the...

  9. Adding a super-simple electrical circuit to garage

I mentioned a while ago that our garage is detached from the house and has no electricity. I haven't got round to sorting out a permanent power supply to the garage yet but have got a nice sturdy extension cable. What I want to do is set up simple lighting and mains circuits in the garage, with...

Hi - I had a quick look to see if this was on here before. I've been a user of Action Pack Solution Provider for a long time. 11. Windows 8.1 - verdict?

Well I decided to be at the cutting edge, more fool me, and installed the free 8.1 upgrade. Navigate to Windows Store and find that it is offering me the upgrade. Am surprised that it doesn't want me to log on (more on that later). Download starts so leave it to churn. After doing the...

Old NAS based HD is showing folders but no files and I'd like to get the data back. Took it out of its chassis, put it in a PC and booted with an Ubuntu CD. xfs_repair isn't doing anything, so does anyone know of an alternative for recovering data from an xfs drive? Ta Pondy

  14. HTTP sessions over multiple IPs?

That is possible isn't it? Web servers (apache or tomcat etc) will resolve the session despite IP change, I'm pretty sure that is the case but can't find anything definitive. Cheers
