  5. If you upload a video to google-apps is it indexed?

They let you have an "anyone who knows the link can access this file" setting which in theory is good for making a video available semi-privately... but I wondered will such videos turn up in video searches?

  8. Compress a video with minimal fuss

I have recorded a demonstration video of an application and the 5min file is 200Mb. I have a video conversion app from I don't know where but it's a bit arcane and I;ve forgotten how to use it. Are there any widely used, easy to use tools which will spit out a nice Divx/H264 version

Hi, I played around a few years ago with mySQL and PHP, wasn't very impressed with them as tools but as they are free not bad value lol. I've been on the bench a while and have an opportunity for some dev work but the client is already using the above on a CMS. Today, I installed the latest...

  16. Windows 7 "Genuine (Dis)Advantage"

I recently logged on to a Windows 7 system which had had the cable accidentally disconnected for a couple of weeks or so and found that it was bleating about activation. 17. .NET MVC - rated or slated?

Seen quite a few roles asking for MVC these days. My first impressions of it are that the markup looks like classic ASP (i.e. a step backwards) and makes the the code-behind more complicated than it really needs to be. Anyone had any experience or is a convert? QB.

  18. Compressing A 75Mb File

I want to send a 75Mb video file (no, not that sort) to family abroad. Obviously with the fear of blowing the guts out of my email system are there any good packages I could use to compress this into a more manageable size, or do I have to resort to the copy to a cd method ? TIA.

  19. USB cable with two connectors

Got a Core backup device recently which has no instructions. Not really necessary as you just plug it in and it works but the USB plug has another USB cable coming off it. What's that for exactly when you get two USB plugs on one device? Just curious really. Cheers.

  20. vBulletin and forum spam

I've been asked about ways to limit the number of spammers that seem to register and post on a phpbb forum, and whether vBulletin is a worthwhile alternative.
