J2se is that standard Java sdk
J2ee is the enterprise Java SDK (entity and session beans).
Can't remember what else is in J2ee that is missing from J2SE (not used Java for a while).Comment

i wanted to see people's programming experiences rather than a conflated technical overview on a website.

Oh, BTW, it was the first E in J2EE that was the difference - not sure if you'd worked that out.
