    sample windows device drivers ?

I have been given a batch of HP Spaceballs (A4360A).

The original maker Spacetec has long since gone and logitec took over and developed the range. I have downloaded all the drivers I can find but none seem to work so I thought what an opportunity to find out about windows device drivers.

The last PC device driver I wrote was to provide 3.5" floppy support on an IBM AT.

So can anyone suggest starting points / books / on line refs for writing device drivers on windows. Any sample code that does serial port and/or mouse interaction would be favourite.

    thanks

Mark, I used to do low level programming in assembly back in DOS 5+ days, but its just not worth trying to write a driver for windows -- gonna take ages.

You need to obtain windows DDK - drivers development kit that includes lots of stuff. Check your favourite P2P networsk for it (its present on edonkey).
