I don't think NCU supports core i7, but the GPU in the latest generations of i7 (skylake kaby lake) pack a punch, usable even for 3D gaming, 4K video is definitely supported I believe even on dual 4K screens

The i5 built-in GPUs are a bit lower spec but still decent

Best small form factor on the market in my opinion:

      https://www.tinygreenpc.com

I run esx on a couple of the i5 intense pc 2 models. Really well built. Not cheap though.

On them! On them! They fail!

If your appetite for risk when it comes to security allows you do buy a device designed and manufactured in Israel (by CompuLab Ltd) , but sold under license in the UK (Anders Electronics under the brand name Tiny Green ), then great.

I would not touch this with a bargepole.

So you are perfectly happy buying kit manufactured in China, but not Israel?

Remember people aren't rational, risk assessments are based on their perceptions which won't be based on the full story...

Well they won't get much joy with my home lab then. Half the porn is on xhamster anyway. They're welcome to my dodgy powershell scripts.

On a more serious note, have you never heard the term 'Silicon Wadi'. They've got their fingers in it all anyway.

I think you want to start looking into just how much tech comes from Israel. It's.....lots.

I took my own advice and bought a NUC Skull Canyon. Core i7/32GB/x2500GB m.2 sticks in RAID1. Boots in 6 seconds and driving my 28in iiyama 4k monitor at full res over HDMI.

                  Recommended.

Yup. We don't use Checkpoint for a reason.
