As a nerd I love the idea of these systems but as a realist I'm fairly sure it's going to be another of these things where it doesn't ever QUITE do what you want.

Side question - do any of these systems tie in with Alexa et al yet i.e. do they have microphones?

Sonos has microphones but they don't have the capabilities of Alexa. They will be integrating with Alexa though so that you can ask Alexa to play Appetite for Destruction in the Lounge and Kitchen.

Sonos also allows you to play music directly from Spotify, without the need to open the Sonos app separately.
