So so tired of begging for wages/salary etc from agencies & umbrella companies?

    Hi there,

Long story short, been contracting around Europe & Uk for last 15 years, had been in Germany 12 months ago, & now have a contract in Uk with a Dutch/Belgium company ( who are not the problem) i have 2 agencies involved as the initial agency outsourced so now the initial company hold my monies for however many days & then the company they have sourced refuse to release any monies until the 20th of the month.

...sorry for ranting but question is does anyone know any umbrella companies that will take on a contract paid in euros, i have been refused by 2 of the top ones today, any help or advice would be so so much appreciated.

    Cheers

    JJ

First thing I would say is to check the payment terms of the contract that the umbrella company holds with the agency so that you know when you should be being paid; if those terms aren't being met then your umbrella company should be chasing the outstanding invoices.

There shouldn't be a problem with an umbrella company billing in Euro's but, when the invoices are paid, funds will need to be converted to sterling in order for them to pay you - I assume you are a UK tax resident at the moment?

15 years a contractor, I have to ask the question, why have you not setup a limited company?
