oh that's kind of annoying, but predictable.

A good product, but not good enough to pay hard earned cash.

On a forum for people who charge hundreds of pounds a day for writing software, this comment seems rather odd. Open source software has done some great things, but one bad thing (partly from this and partly the web in general) is the prevailing feeling that nobody should have to pay for software.

So surely qualified to judge what's worth spending on and what's not?

I pay for things that are useful to me, like AV/Firewall, Beyond Compare, winzip even, and whilst this product may be invaluable to someone else, I only use it to support my ageing mother's PC, which it can just about manage, but I will simply open a port to connect directly with terminal services and get full screen res instead of shadowy web images.

Quite. You can sell apps that took you months to write for £3 and people write comments like "I expected a Rolls Royce for this sort of money"

Yes but loads of people who use LMI very frequently, even as part of their job, are among those in uproar they'd have to pay.

Free tools are an incredible blessing but they should not be expected or taken for granted.

I think the main complaints are the total lack of notice.
And the rate, its one thing to ask for $10 at no notice its another thing to ask for $50.....

The mobile app stores have spoilt people, they want polished apps for £0.69p a time

You have to question the logic relying on a free resource if it costs you money when you no longer have access to it, and if you are using it commercially why would you object to paying $50 a year unless you are on Suity rates?
